Warwickshire Road Safety Education
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Sallie from the Warwickshire Road Safety Education Team to Wood End Primary. It was wonderful to see our children engage with such an important topic in a fun and interactive way.
Our Early Years children were introduced to Warwick Bear, the road safety mascot, and had a brilliant time playing games to learn the road safety code. They explored a box of props and listened to a story about Warwick Bear, even joining in with a song that reinforced our key message about holding hands near the road. The children were so enthusiastic and engaged throughout the session.
Year 1 also benefited from the visit, listening to a story and learning about different ways to travel safely and how to cross roads responsibly. It's heartening to see our children developing these crucial safety skills from an early age.
This visit is part of our ongoing involvement in the Safe and Active Schools Programme, which reflects our commitment to keeping children safe and active both in school and around their community. Working closely with the Warwickshire Road Safety Team strengthens this important work, and we're grateful for their expertise and dedication.
