Eco-Schools Green Flag Award
We are delighted to share that Wood End Primary has been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. This is a fantastic achievement for our whole school community, and we are very proud of everyone who helped us reach this milestone.
Last year, our Eco-Committee worked tirelessly to identify areas where we could improve. Pupils carefully evaluated our school grounds and created an action plan that identified practical ways to make a positive difference. The committee chose to focus on three key areas: reducing litter, encouraging butterflies and bees into our grounds, and reducing unnecessary use of electricity.
To complete the award, pupils took part in a litter pick in the local woodlands, helping to care for the environment beyond our school gates. Their commitment shows what can be achieved when pupils take ownership of the world around them.
Our certificate and flag have now arrived and will be displayed with pride around school, so that everyone can celebrate this success together.
I would like to thank our Eco-Committee pupils for the positive impact they made on our school environment last year. I cannot wait to see what our new group will achieve this year.
