Packington Free Range Farm

Packington Free Range Farm
Today, we welcomed Jules from Packington Farm to Wood End Primary School. She spent time in different classrooms, providing a range of workshops around farming and food. Squirrels used the Little Red Hen story to find out about wheat, flour and bread. Hedgehog and Dragonfly Class investigated a lunchbox and worked out which plants and animals had produced the contents. Badger class learned about arable farming, looking at how cereal crops are produced and harvested. And finally, Otter class looked at different foods and how many miles they had travelled to get to our plates. They were considering the environmental impact of food miles. All the children enjoyed their workshop and were able to recall their key learning when asked. I would like to thank Jules and Packington Free Range Farm for providing this brilliant experience for our children. Also, thank you to Mr Chape for organising this visit to school.
