This week we have had an exciting week of sport! On Monday, the children took part in a wheelchair basketball day where they all learnt how to change direction in a wheelchair and played a variety of games before competing in a basketball match. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed this and said how brilliant it was taking part in a sport they had never done before!
On Tuesday, 10 girls from Year 3 and 4 competed in a football competition to promote the Women’s World Cup. They demonstrated brilliant team work, determination and resilience. We were selected to represent Australia and as usual our Wood End pupils did us proud.
Then, on Wednesday, all of the children took part in an inflatable football day. We had a huge inflatable goal and dart board set up in the hall. There were many fantastic goals scored and there were screams of excitement when they hit the bullseye!
