Scootability

Scootability

On Tuesday Hedgehog and Dragonfly class took part in a Scootability session. Each child had their own safety equipment - knee pads and helmet before taking hold of their scooter. The session helped the children to develop control when riding a scooter and important rules for keeping safe when riding a scooter around the village. They learned how to stop with control, how to avoid bumps and how to walk their scooter across roads. It was a fantastic, active session which all the children loved. I was particularly impressed with the control the children developed during the session.

At Wood End Primary School we are lucky to have a bike shelter and scooter storage area. We are happy for children to ride to school on their bike or scooter, which can be left in the bike area during the day. We ask that the children walk their bike or scooter through the playground to avoid accidents.
