Fire safety
Today the firefighting team from Atherstone station visited school to deliver important safety messages to Hedgehog and Badger Class. Badger Class explored dangers around the home and the problem of hoax calls to the brigade. Hedgehog class found out about being safe with matches, how to escape a house in an emergency and what do if their clothes caught fire. Being caught in a fire is something we hope will never happen for our children, but it is reassuring that they are prepared and know what to do if it ever happened.
The fire brigade team are eager for every household to have a smoke detector. If you do not have one in your home yet, please contact Atherstone Fire station and they will arrange an installation.
I would like to thank the team who visited Wood End Primary this week, the children loved finding out about being safe and exploring the fire engine outside school.
