Taking Care - Protective Behaviours

As part of our working on keeping safe and safeguarding, we follow the Warwickshire Programme for Protective Behaviours called Taking Care.
This comprises 4 lessons taught around the two key themes:
1) We all have the right to feel safe all the time.
2) We can talk with someone about anything, even if it feels awful or small.
The work revolves around:
* Rights and responsibilities
* The safety continuum
* Early Warning Signs
* Networks of trusted people
In addition to the 4 lessons, these themes are reinforced throughout the year in all aspects of the curriculum. We often talk to children in terms of their Early Warning Signs and whether they feel safe.
There is a parents guide that accompanies the programme. Please read it in order to understand the terminology your child will be using.
