It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Wood End Primary School. We are an academy school which is at the heart of our thriving village community and we are members of our growing academy chain. At present there are four local schools in our ‘family of schools’, which are Birchwood Primary, Dordon Primary and The Polesworth School. We have excellent working relationships with all schools, which benefit us all.
We are proud of all our achievements and particularly the strong links forged with our school community. The Academy’s Mission Statement which refers to our pupils being, ‘central to all we do’ and also experiencing ‘rich opportunities and memorable experiences’ is in the foreground of our planning and permeates all aspects of school life.
We are committed to delivering a challenging and creative curriculum which promotes new technologies and a global dimension to our wonderful children. Our pupils play an active part in school life and become involved in everything that is offered. We offer a range of extracurricular activities including fencing, cross country, sewing, choir, football, netball, homework and ICT club.
Our dedicated and committed staff aims for all children to achieve the best they can so that each child can fulfil their potential and be inspired with a love of learning.
I hope you get an insight into our excellent school by reading our website. If you would like to find out more, please contact the school to arrange a visit. I very much look forward to meeting you and working in partnership with you to provide the best possible outcomes for your child.
Our school supports British values, which are: democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith. We teach tolerance and harmony between different cultural traditions by enabling students to acquire an appreciation for and respect for their own and other cultures.
